50 Thousand Spectators at President of the UAE Cup in Kentucky Derby

The President of the UAE Cup-held on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, witnessed the presence of around 50 thousand spectators.

 A superstar line-up, including some of the United States' most accomplished Arabian racehorses, competed in this event- which is one of the richest Arabian races of the year for the USA.

The race- the fifth in The President of the UAE Cup Series, attracted nine of the finest Arabians horses in USA.  This long established Grade 1 race offered a purse of $100,000 under the gracious sponsorship of Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC).

HE Majid Hassan Al Suwaidi, UAE Council General in New York, said: “We are really proud to have this race hosted here at the Churchill Downs. The presence of around 50 thousand spectators is a clear indication for the big successes of this event. This event has greatly contributed to highlighting the importance of Arabian horse worldwide.”

He expressed their thanks to the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the great attention He is paying to maintain the heritage and traditional sports of the UAE.

For his part, Talal Al Hashemi, Representative of ADSC said: “The successes of this event are beyond expectations. We are so delighted for that.”

Al Hashemi reiterated the attention and support of HH Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Council to the series of President of the UAE Cup for purebred Arabian horses.
