The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) delegation has given the thumbs up following the inspections to the eight stadiums hosting AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 matches.
The visiting AFC delegation including representative of the participating nations accompanied by members of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) made several visits to all eight venues and the training pitches in the past few weeks.
The AFC Asian Cup returns to the UAE after 22 years and for the first time the continental championship will consist of 24 teams and 51 games slated from January 5 to February 1.
HE Aref Hamad Al Awani, Head of the LOC and Championship Director, said he was pleased with the ongoing work which were ahead of time and to the satisfaction of the visiting AFC delegation.
“We have not lagged behind at any stage from the time work began at the stadiums and training venues,” he said.
