The second edition of Abu Dhabi Sports Festival (ADSF) started in a bright way on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company.
ADSF is organized by Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) in collaboration with Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC).
The objective of this festival is to encourage all community segments, students, kids and family members to engage in sport activities during summer vacation in order to get active to stay healthy.
The 54-day festival will go from 10 AM to 10 PM daily until August 31st 2017. 15 different indoor games and activities are taking place.
Games and activities are meant to suit all segments of the community. They include: football, basketball, badminton, volleyball, mini-tennis, table tennis, running track, cross fit, gym, acroball, Jungle land bungee trampoline, gyroscope, skate park for kids and teens as well, yoga and cross fit for ladies.
The Festival also includes a summer camp for kids. The camp is held under the supervision of specialized coaches and supervisors, and it is designed for kids of 6-12-year-old categories.
Kids’ summer camp includes the activities of touch rugby, jungle land, skating park, rope skating and a battle land.
The opening day of the festival witnessed participants form Al Wahda and Al Jazira Clubs, as well as from the federations of Jiujutsu, Muay Thai and kickboxing taking part. Those young participants showed promising skills in these martial arts.
ADSF is sponsored by Etihad Airways, Waha Capital, and Emirates Motor Company (EMC), Al Ain Water and Universal Hospital.
Speaking about the opening of the festival, Ahmed Abdul Allah Al Qubaisi, ADSC Director of Marketing and Communication said: “WE are really happy for the opening and good beginning of the second edition of Abu Dhabi Sports Festival. This festival is a very important sportive event that will allow the opportunity for all community segments and family members to practice various sportive activities. This will take place in a very friendly indoor environment.”
Al Qubaisi affirmed that getting active will help all participants to get physically well and fit, and to lead healthy lifestyle as the slogan of the festival reads: Stay Active...Stay Healthy.
On his part, Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, CEO of ADNEC, said they are very pleased to host ADSF for the second successive time. He indicated that ADNEC produced a space of 22 thousand square meters for the activities of ADSF 2017.
