Preparation of Al Ain Group to host the AFC Asian Cup games on schedule

The Executive Office of the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 met with the Al Ain Group for an update on the preparations of the games scheduled at both the Hazza bin Zayed and Khalifa bin Zayed stadiums.

HE Aref Hamad Al Awani, Director of the Executive Office, chaired the meeting along with HE Hamad bin Nukhirat Al Ameri, Chairman of Al Ain Group Asian Cup UAE 2019, Sultan Hamad Al Mutawa Al Dhahiri, Manager of Hazza bin Zayed Stadium.

HE Al Awani welcomed members of the Al Ain Group and presented a complete review of the latest developments of the Organizing Committee in coordination with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

The Al Ain Group will host 14 matches of the 24-nation continental championship from January 5 to February 1. The Hazza bin Zayed stadium will host eight games and six at the Khalifa bin Zayed stadium.

Talal Al Hashmi, Chairman of the Competitions Committee provided an update on the latest schedules and preparations of the teams and the visits of the official delegation of the AFC in September.

Ahmed Al Qubaisi, Chairman of Marketing and Communication Committee, presented the marketing identity of stadiums, training and fans areas of the championship.

The committee also discussed the preparations at Hazza bin Zayed stadium for the hosting of the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2018 matches from December 12 to 22 ahead Asian Cup in January.

The Executive Office reviewed the security and marketing plans, transport, communications and accommodation arrangements.

The readiness of the permit offices for the championship and the role of the Executive Office for the volunteers in the organisation of the matches next to the area of ​​fans and events and activities.

HE Al Awani explained that the coordination meetings will continuing with all groups and follow-ups of the Local Organizing Committee at every stage of preparedness.

“We want to ensure every detail of the plans are in good order and on schedule, and so far, the work has been going on smoothly,” he said.

“The members of the various committees have done an excellent job and we wish for a most memorable football show for the participating teams and fans.”

HE Hamad bin Nukhirat Al Ameri, Chairman of Al Ain Group, emphasised the importance and role of the meetings between the committees and the Executive Office.

“We have been meeting regularly to review the work in progress and are quite pleased with what we have achieved so far,” he said.
