The Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Group HE Saeed Hareb is confident the refurbishing work at both the Al Maktoum and Rashid stadiums were going full steam and will be ready ahead of the schedule.

The two stadiums are the two venues to host matches of the 24-team AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 from January 5 to February 1.

“Work at both the stadiums are progressing well and within the time-frame of the schedule,” said HE Hareb.

“We are confident of completing the work ahead of the scheduled time-frame and looking forward to provide both the teams and the fans the best possible facilities.”

HE Hareb held talks with HE Aref Hamad Al Awani, Director of the Executive Office and the Local Organising Committee delegation in Dubai on Wednesday.

HE Al Awani and the LOC delegation toured the work site and said they were highly satisfied with the work carried out so far.

“Obviously we are very happy with the work that has been completed and the remaining work in progress,” he said.

“It’s important to coordinate as well as visit the stadiums hosting the matches to ensure everything is in place according to the requirements of the Asian Football Confederation and the national teams.”
