Lord Sebastian Coe, President of International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF); Aarti Dabas, Head of Media Rights, International Cricket Council (ICC), and Keith Pelley, Chief Executive Officer, PGA European Tour, are among the industry experts set to take to the stage at the Bab Al Qasr, Abu Dhabi on 30 - 31 January 2019.

Lord Coe, as chairman of the local organising committee, was the mastermind behind London’s successful 2012 Olympic bid and the Paralympic Games.

He brings a wealth of experience to the audience in January both as a world class athlete and as the head of IAAF since 2015.

Dabas led the creation of the ICC’s first fan engagement strategy, focused on understanding, growing and monetising the global cricket fan base.

With her role expanding to include identification and development of brand partnerships, Dabas will explore the use of technology and digital for storytelling and connecting with fans.

Pelley has headed up the European Tour since 2015 and in that time has pioneered a series of new initiatives, including the launch of new formats such as Golf Sixes, and shored up longstanding broadcast relationships with the likes of Sky Sports.

Lord Coe, Dabas and Pelley will be joined on stage at The Sport Business Summit by:

Boutros, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates

Paolo Bellino, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager, RCS Sport

Keith Harris, Deputy Chairman, Everton FC

David Tyler, Chief Operating Officer, DDMC Fortis

Peter Silverstone, Commercial Director, Arsenal FC

The two-day event with speakers from both based in the UAE and overseas consist of the main Summit and a series of bespoke workshops, providing a platform for attendees to discuss key themes and topics impacting the industry and region.

Those include the future of Asian football, establishing a footprint in the MENA region, exploring new frontiers and destination-building and storytelling in sport.

HE Aref Hamad Al Awani, general secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said they are honoured to welcome the speakers.

“Their participation will no doubt enrich the panels of the Leaders Sport Business Summit 2019, and will be an added value to this edition,” he said.

Simon Lau, Chief Commercial Officer, Leaders added: “Abu Dhabi as a city hosts some of the largest sporting events in the world and we’re really looking forward to bringing the global Sport Business Summit to the heart of the Middle East.

“The entertainment and sports industry are developing at a rapid rate and with that comes great opportunity to share inspirational learnings from industry experts in a new market.’
