More than 390 employees from the government and private sectors stepped up to embrace corporate wellness and celebrate team-work in the capital’s 3rd Abu Dhabi Dash event at Khalifa Park yesterday.
39 teams of 10 from Department of Health, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, NMC Healthcare, Daman, Mubadala, Department of Economic Development, Rahma – Cancer Patient Care Society, Wood Group and others raced against each other in the 1.5km relay.
Emirates Steel took the Abu Dhabi Dash corporate title in an impressive team time of 57mm:20ss for the full 15km distance over 10 laps. Team Haddins took the overall win for the club championships in a time of 53mm:53ss
Participants also enjoyed a host of activities, games, sports, health screenings and nutrition tips in the Dash activity village.
Abu Dhabi Dash is held under the patronage of Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
H.E. Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said: “We are proud to be the patron of Abu Dhabi Dash and get corporate and government employees active. Abu Dhabi Dash, now in its third year, is presented by Department of Health and also strategically partnered with NMC Healthcare.

Associate Partner Daman and Charity Partner Rahma – Cancer Patient Care Society also continue to support this wellness initiative.
Mohamed Tarmoom of Mubadala took the title in The Executive Challenge, which welcomes senior leaders from organisations across Abu Dhabi to take part in a short distance ‘activity sprint’ in aid of cancer patient care in the UAE. A cheque for 10,000 AED was presented to the charity during the awards ceremony.
Rahma’s Director General, Abdulla Salem Al Kaabi stated: “It is wonderful to see the Executive Challenge bring together senior leaders to support our efforts and work in caring for cancer patients. And congratulations to Mubadala for winning such an exciting Challenge!”

The most improved team was Daman 1, who took over a minute off their 2017 time.
