Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of both the General Women’s Union and Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Chairwoman of Family Development Foundation "Mother of the Nation", the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy announces the 4th Edition of the Fatima bint Mubarak Blitz Chess Tournament, which will be held at Abu Dhabi ladies Club at 5pm in the evening of Saturday, May 28, 2022. With the number of entry registrations having reached more than 100 players, the most notable of names are 4 players who hold the title of "Grand International Master" (which is the most prominent title in the game). Maria Kevorkian from Armenia, Mehri Guldyaeva from Turkmenistan, Alina Nekruzova from Ukraine, Alexandra Grishna from Russia.In addition to the elite players at the national level, among the champions of the age groups, at the International and local level. With the guarantee of the participation of the most prominent players and notable names, top-ranked talent in the International Chess Federation world ranking system, the tournament and scheduled to follow the Swiss games system which consists of seven rounds. Contestants of all nationalities are more than welcome to participate, ages 7 years and above will be eligible to register.

Hosting these competitive events and tournaments year in year out, will serve to encourage women’s participation thus guaranteeing representation of all women who wish to do so, in return placing an emphasis on the importance of organizing the fourth annual FBMA Blitz Chess Tournament is a credit to the professionalism of the outstanding efforts of the organizational committee, sponsors and officials, and it is also an extension of the continuous support and guidance of the wise leadership. The organizational committee, announced valuable cash prizes reaching up to AED 33,000 (thirty three thousand), the prizes also include distinguished top performers’ prizes from various categories, with special emphasis on the talents of people of determination. In addition, the tournament hosts a selection of International, highly experienced and qualified referee committee led by the International Emirati referees Saeed Ahmed Al Khoori, and the International Romanian referee Bogdan

His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), welcomed participants for the fourth Women’s Blitz Chess Championship in Abu Dhabi.
The championship is held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of both the General Women’s Union and Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Chairwoman of Family Development Foundation is organized by the Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Academy, as part of their plans, endeavors and contributions aimed at developing women’s sports and hosting major sporting events.
“The championship is another important event within the plans of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Fatima Bint Mubarak Women's Sports Academy in supporting women's sports,” HE Al Awani said.
“This championship in its fourth edition now provides opportunities for all participants in different categories and levels to gain experience against players with high FIDE rankings, and obviously prepare them to represent the UAE in regional, continental and international competitions.”
HE Hussain Abdullah Al Khouri, president of the Abu Dhabi Chess and Brain Games Club, added: "For the fourth consecutive year, this spectacular chess event is being organized in partnership with the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, and it is without a shadow of a doubt that the goals of the Abu Dhabi Chess and Mind Games club will be achieved in the best way. On the grand scale of things, the path was forged forward under the great partnership of Nationwide sports clubs and community bodies, which serve to enhance the club’s role in serving the people of the country in supporting them in their endeavors to focus the spotlight on the up-and-coming talent, in the aim of advancing current and future generations. HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak is the most avid supporter of women, and her efforts and tremendous support do not go unnoticed, we ask Allah Almighty to preserve her and keep her in the best of health and spirits
