H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Monday received, in Qasr Al Watan, Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
During the meeting, both sides discussed the AFC’s plans and programmes and ways of strengthening the region’s football scene. They also highlighted the leading role of the UAE in supporting regional and international football initiatives.
Sheikh Mansour lauded the AFC’s role in advancing football, noting the significant attention given by the country’s leadership for the efforts to support local and international sports initiatives.
The meeting coincides with Abu Dhabi’s hosting of the FIFA Club World Cup (UAE 2021) on Saturday.
The meeting was attended by Faris Al Mazrouei, Advisor at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, and Abdullah Naser Al Junaibi, Chief of the UAE Pro League.
