Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) announced the signing of an agreement with Etisalat to sponsor the UAE Tour’s green jersey points classification worn daily, starting from Stage 2, by the fastest sprinter who has obtained the best positions in each stage and intermediate sprints.
The agreement was signed in the presence of His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, ADSC General Secretary, and Dr Ahmed bin Ali, First Vice President of Corporate Communications at Etisalat, at the sports council’s headquarters.
HE Al Awani thanked Etisalat for their generous sponsorship UAE Tour that represents pride and solidarity of a national business conglomerate’s involvement to support a world event in the UAE.
“We really are delighted with Etisalat’s participation as a sponsor in an event that goes live to the world,” he said.
“Etisalat has always been supportive of both local and international sporting events, and in this case, they not only are supporting a global event but are promoting and developing the cycling culture in the country.”

The UAE Tour is the only global event in the International Cycling Federation’s calendar of events in the Middle East, drawing 20 world teams in the event to take place from 21-27 February.
