His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan paid tribute to those who gave their lives for the UAE as a timely reminder for their families that their martyrdom has not been forgotten.
The Chairman of both the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Foundation for Charity and Humanitarian Affairs, and Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), said martyrdom is the highest degree of devotion and dedication to the homeland.
“The values of sacrifice represent a genuine heritage that the country has derived from the founding father of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul,” he said.
HH Sheikh Nahyan praised the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for the highest recognition given to commemorate the honour and loyalty of the martyrs.
“We pay tribute to the heroic role of the martyrs of the homeland, who sacrificed the most precious possessions to defend the homeland,” he added.
“The attitudes of the mothers, fathers, sons and wives of the righteous martyrs reflected the absolute faith in the value of martyrdom to defend the fateful cause of the homeland and the spirit of determination, determination and steadfastness with pride, reflecting the authentic qualities of our faithful people.”
