Sheikh Khalid bin Faisal Al Qasimi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Racing Company (ADRC), the lead driver of the Abu Dhabi Racing Team, is aiming for a podium finish in the Baja Jordan Rally 2019, the seventh and penultimate round of the FIA World Cross Country Rally Short Cup.
Sheikh Khalid in his Peugeot 3008DKR with his French navigator Xavier Patisserie will compete in the three-day event starting on Thursday.
The Baja Jordan International Rally gets underway with a 2.85-km special stage in the Jordanian port city Aqaba.
Sheikh Khalid applauded the keen interest and unlimited support for motor sport from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
He also thanked His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, in appreciation of the leadership role played by the sports council.
“The Baja Jordan Rally will see strong competition amongst the participants but the Abu Dhabi racing team has achieved podiums and we are very hopeful of another,” said the 2017 FIA World Championship.
