As the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 fever grips the Continent, fans have been given the opportunity to own a piece of football history with the launch of the tournament’s official merchandise campaign.
True to the tournament’s slogan of ‘Bringing Asia Together,’ a wide range of product lines with the aim to appeal to football fans and consumers of all ages, both for men and women, have been commissioned from across the 24 participating nations.
AFC General Secretary Dato’ Windsor John said: “Merchandise plays a fundamental role to engage sporting fans and in raising awareness during all major competitions. The range of AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 merchandise has been deliberately designed to be as diverse as possible to give fans from all teams a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a part of this AFC Asian Cup.”
Football fans can now own a piece of the action from selected Lulu Hypermarket outlets across the UAE, the biggest retail chain in West Asia. The eye-catching merchandise will be available at the tournament’s eight stadiums across the four host cities for all 51 matches.
Tournament Director for the Local Organising Committee, His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, added: “Football has a power to unite people like no other sport and fans love to express their support by wearing their nation’s colours with pride, which is evident at any football game.
“The AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 is a historic moment in Asian football so naturally supporters will want keepsakes of this momentous occasion to show their colours both during and after the tournament.”
Among the official AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 merchandise are t-shirts, hats, scarfs, key chains mobile phone and laptop covers as well as selected specifically designed mementos to represent the 24 participating nations and a limited-edition replica of the tournament’s mascots - Mansour and Jarrah.
