On Friday 10th November from 3pm, more than 300 children aged between 5 and 13 will take part in the first ever Mini Dash, being held at Umm Al Emarat Park, Abu Dhabi. This fun and challenging event will bring together teams of five from all backgrounds and abilities to complete a short distance relay race that promotes an active lifestyle and teamwork.
The younger competitors in the ages 5-7 and 8-10 groups will run five loops of the 300m relay course, while the older category (11-13 years) will run five loops of a 600m course. And when not cheering on the runners, friends and family will be invited to the activity village which offers a range of sports to try out and other wellness activities for mums and dads. At the close of the day, an awards ceremony will see the top three teams from each age group awarded, and all race participants will also receive a medal of achievement for taking part.
Held under the patronage of Abu Dhabi Sports Council and brought to you by the Department of Health, with NMC Healthcare as the Strategic Health Partner and supported by Daman’s Activelife, the Mini Dash gives children and their parents a chance to get active as a family and for the community to come together for a great cause. At the end of the event, a donation will be presented to Rahma - Cancer Patient Care Society.
