The Egyptian Super Cup between the heavyweights Al Ahly and Zamalek will be played in Abu Dhabi at the Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium on February 20.
The match will mark the fourth time the Super Cup played in the UAE. It was first held in Al Ain in 2016 and then Abu Dhabi. Last year, it returned to Egypt, Alexandria, in which Ahly defeated Zamalek 3-2.
Two of Arab football’s best-known sides, Ahly booked their spot for the clash by winning the Egyptian Premier League, while Zamalek qualified through their Egypt Cup success.
Officials from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and the Egyptian Football Association made the announcement at a joint press conference in Cairo on Wednesday.
The press conference was attended by His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of the ADSC, Amr Al Janaini, Chairman of the Five-Party Committee in charge of managing the Egyptian Football Association, and Mohamed Fadl, a member of the Egyptian organizing committee, and representatives of the two clubs.

“The match itself will be played in one of the most beautiful stadiums, which carries a name that is so dear to all our hearts. The preparations are already underway through the formation of the local organizing committee for this great game.
“We are delighted to host this El Clasico of the Arab world for the fourth time. This game will not only bring the Egyptian fans but the Emirati fans as well. This match will also enhance the good relationship between the two countries and its people.”
