Active Parks

During this period, Abu Dhabi's parks and green areas witnessed a large turnout of participants in the activities of the Active Parks Initiative, which included 380 free training sessions hosted in 12 parks and green areas in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.

Active Parks was launched at the initiative of the Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, along with the municipalities of Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain City, Al Dhafra Region, and the Community Events Management Department - Al Dhafra Region Affairs Department (ADNOC).

The program included a number of fitness activities under the supervision of expert trainers, such as Zumba, running, boot camp, CrossFit, and yoga, with special training sessions for people of determination. The program, which lasted for an entire month, attracted wide participation from various segments of society and participants of different nationalities, races, ages, and physical abilities.

The initiative's objectives revolved around promoting a healthy lifestyle, raising awareness of the benefits of physical activity, and helping community members overcome the challenges that hinder their practice of sports.

His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, and His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi, witnessed the activities of the Active Parks Initiative, in Sheikha Fatima Park in Abu Dhabi.
