Egyptian Super Cup to be staged at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium on October 28
Abu Dhabi Sports Council announced Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain to host the Egyptian Super Cup on October 28 (9pm UAE time).
The Super Cup is set to be a Clasico between the two most famous clubs in the Arab world - league champion Zamalek and the runner up Al Ahly.
It is the fifth time the Egyptian Super Cup is held in the UAE after the first staging in 2015 at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium), in 2017 (Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium), 2018 (Hazza bin Zayed Stadium) and 2020 at (Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium).
The Hazza bin Zayed Stadium is a magnificent architectural masterpiece and a luxurious sports edifice built according to one of the best international football stadiums.
It features state of the art technologies in line with the requirements of the world football governing body FIFA Football Association and can accommodate more than 20,000 spectators with comfortable seats spread on seven levels.
The stadium has won a number of prestigious international awards after chosen as the best stadiums in the world for 2014 from 31 international stadiums in all continents.
It won the Best International Stadium Design 2017 award according to the World Stadiums Conference.
The Hazza bin Zayed Stadium hosted a number of major international matches such as the Manchester City matches on their visits to the UAE as well as the 2017 and 2018 FIFA Club World Cup matches and the Asian Cup UAE 2019.
Abu Dhabi Sports Council signed an agreement with the United Media Services Company and Presentation Sports to stage the two Egyptian Super Cup matches that won the League Shield and the Egypt Cup for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons in the UAE.
