The Fatima Bint Mubarak Women Sports Award continues to receive nominations
Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and Mother of the Nation, with the support of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Hazaa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, President of the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club and Al Ain Ladies Club, and organized by the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the Fatima Bint Mubarak Women Sports Award continues to receive nominations for its seventh edition. The award was announced last June, with the arbitration committee set to begin sorting the files received after closing the nomination period on 31 August.
The award is the first of its kind in the region and one of the most distinguished in the eyes of the Arab sports community. It was established within the framework of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy’s continued efforts to uplift the status of Emirati and Arab women, contribute to creating a competitive initiative to attract sports talents at the local and pan-Arab levels, as well as to work to value their bids in their respective arenas and fields.
The winners of the seventh edition of the award will be announced in a huge ceremony on 15 November in Abu Dhabi.
The Fatima Bint Mubarak Women Sports Award has become one of the most important awards that aim to highlight the role of women in the sports field. It has received unparalleled attention for its distinguished reputation which its founders have continued to build on since its inception and throughout the previous six editions. The award has garnered impressive successes and tremendous reactions at the Arab and international levels, following the nomination and awarding of many esteemed personalities and stars in the field of women's sports, whose achievements have crossed international borders.
The total prizes for the seventh edition of the award amount to AED 1,800,000, distributed across 11 categories at both the individual and collective levels. The collective levels encompass sports federations and institutions.
The individual level awards are comprised of the Best Arab Female Athlete with a prize of AED 500,000, the Best Emirati Athlete with a prize of AED 300,000, the Best Youth Athlete with a prize of AED 100,000, the Best Paralympic Athlete with a prize of AED 100,000, the Best Female / Male Coach with a prize of AED 100,000, and the Best Sports Media with a prize of AED 100,000. The newest award for the Best Sports Mother, in recognition of the role of mothers in the march for raising champion girls, is worth AED 100,000.
The award categories at the level of sports federations and institutions include the category for the Best Youth Development Program with a prize of AED 100,000, Best Team with a prize of AED 300,000, and the Best Creative Initiative, with a prize of AED 100,000.
The Academy also grants a special award to the Arab Sports Personality of the Year, an honour bestowed by the jury to recognize an Arab personality for her outstanding performance and contributions in the field of women's sports. The winner of last year's edition was Tunisian international tennis star Anas Jaber.
Finally, the Academy invites all concerned sports institutions, federations, and individuals who meet the terms and conditions of the award to take the initiative to register as candidates through the official website www.fbmwomensportsaward.ae.
