The Zayed Charity Run in Abu Dhabi, under the sponsorship of Hamdan Bin Zayed, successfully concludes with the participation of more than 7,000 male and female runners.
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra region, the Zayed Charity Run was held today on Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi, with more than 7,000 male and female runners of various ages and nationalities competing and celebrating the achievements of the UAE’s founding leader, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him.
Sheikh Yas Bin Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan launched the start of the 10km race in the presence of thousands of people, local citizens, expatriates, and international visitors alike, who ran and walked, as individuals, families and clubs, within the event, which is characterised by its enthusiastic and competitive atmosphere.
The total prize money for the race is AED 1,000,000 for distances of 3, 5 and 10km, and its proceeds are allocated to support innovative and life-saving treatments for cancer patients through the Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre.
