“Abu Dhabi crowns Emirates Great Britain as the champion of the SailGP Rolex 2025 races.”

Emirates Great Britain has been crowned champion of the 2025 SailGP Rolex Season 5 after securing a total of 90 points. New Zealand’s Black Foils finished second with 84 points, while Australia’s Bundes Flying Roos claimed third place.

Meanwhile, Denmark’s Rokoll Racing recorded the highest points in the final round of the SailGP season during the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Sailing Grand Prix, organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council at Zayed Port along the Abu Dhabi Corniche waterfront on November 29–30. Twelve international teams competed on high-performance F50 catamarans capable of exceeding 100 km/h. Red Bull Italy finished second, and France secured third place.

The winners were crowned by Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation; Sheikh Hamdan bin Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Director of International Events at Abu Dhabi Sports Council; H.E. Humaid Abdullah Al Shamsi, Deputy Group CEO and Chief Corporate and Human Capital Officer at Mubadala; and H.E. Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

Abu Dhabi served as the 12th and final stop of SailGP Season 5, which also visited Dubai, Auckland, Sydney, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Portsmouth, Sassnitz, Saint-Tropez, Geneva, and Cádiz.

The total prize purse for the week amounted to USD 3.2 million:
• USD 800,000 shared between the top three of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Sailing Grand Prix,
• USD 400,000 for the team with the highest season points,
• USD 2 million awarded to the winner of the season-deciding Grand Final.

Overall, Emirates Great Britain earned a total of USD 4.4 million this season, while Black Foils collected USD 1.76 million, and Bundes Flying Roos received USD 1.2 million.

Led by Olympic legend and the most decorated Olympic sailor in history, Sir Ben Ainslie, who serves as CEO, the Emirates Great Britain team also features Olympic champion and former world champion Dylan Fletcher as driver. The lineup includes top-tier sailing talent such as Olympic gold medalists Hannah Mills, Iain Jensen, and Ellie Aldridge, as well as America’s Cup athletes Neil Hunter, Nick Hatton, Luke Parkinson, and Ben Cornish. The squad is completed by 19-year-old rising talent Kai Hockley, part of the team’s development program.

Dylan Fletcher, driver of Emirates Great Britain, said:
“What an incredible final. All three teams were outstanding, and any one of us could have taken the win. I’m absolutely thrilled — what a team, what a year. I’m on top of the world.”

SailGP Season 6 (2026) is set to begin in Perth, Australia, on January 17–18.
