Outstanding Success for Zayed Military University Running and Cycling Race
Zayed Military University achieved remarkable success in organizing its running and cycling race, which attracted hundreds of participants from cadets, faculty members, and administrative staff, all competing in an atmosphere defined by enthusiasm, discipline, and the spirit of challenge that characterizes military work.
The organization of this race comes as part of the university’s vision to prepare future leaders and enable cadets to develop leadership skills, teamwork, and physical readiness. It reflects the core military values of discipline, commitment, and initiative. The race also forms part of the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen cohesion and engagement among all its members.
The event was attended by Lieutenant General Mike Hindmarsh, President of Zayed Military University, and Major General Obaid Al Mansouri, Commander of Zayed II Military College, who both praised the high level of organization and the wide participation. They emphasized that sports activities are a fundamental pillar of military training, as they contribute to improving fitness levels and enhancing the sense of belonging and responsibility among cadets.
The race featured two main competitions: a 33-kilometre cycling race, in which participants demonstrated impressive endurance and discipline, and a 5-kilometre running race, which witnessed strong competition among cadets and university personnel.
The event also included awareness activities focused on sports safety, nutrition, and the importance of physical sustainability, along with the participation of volunteer teams who supported route management, medical stations, and logistical services.
The race received support from several national entities that played a key role in its success, including Abu Dhabi Police, the Emirates Red Crescent, the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi), Emirates Palace, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Super Sports, and Wolfi’s.
