Abu Dhabi Grand Shooting Championship 2025 Concludes with Winners Crowned
The second edition of the Abu Dhabi Grand Shooting Championship concluded successfully under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. The event, organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in collaboration with the Office of Weapons and Hazardous Materials, took place from 13 to 24 August 2025 across three premier venues: Al Forsan International Sports Resort, Al Dhafra Shooting Club in Madinat Zayed, and Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club.
This year’s championship attracted more than 470 shooters, both citizens and residents, who competed across various categories for a total prize pool of AED 1 million. The tournament aimed to promote shooting sports and encourage wider community participation.
H.E. Mohamed Suhail Al Neyadi, Director General of the Weapons and Hazardous Substances Office, under the Supreme Council for National Security, expressed his deep gratitude to the UAE’s leadership for its continued support of sports and athletes, and to His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his generous patronage and unwavering commitment to the growth of the championship. He highlighted that the four-week competition provided an ideal platform for shooting enthusiasts to test their skills in a competitive yet professional environment, helping participants refine their abilities in line with the official UAE Shooting Championship regulations.
H.E. Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) emphasized that the tournament also played a key role in discovering new talent, nurturing their skills, and building bridges between practitioners while promoting sports awareness. He extended his appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his patronage, congratulating the winners and the organizing committees for delivering the championship with excellence for the second consecutive year.
Results Highlights
• Individual Competitions:
o Sktun Rifle: Majid Mubarak Al Breiki claimed first place with 97 points, while Amina Sultan Saeed Al Darmaki topped the women’s category with 96 points. In the juniors’ division, Hamid Omar Al Menhali secured first place with 95 points.
o 9mm Pistol (Residents): Satyam Chadha (India) took first place, followed by Louay Sayed Ibrahim Al Haj (Sudan) in second and Allan Rabena (Philippines) in third.
o 9mm Pistol (Citizens): Mohamed Mubarak Al Breiki won first place with 96 points, with Ayesh Salem Al Qaydi second, and Abdullah Ibrahim Hashem third.
o 223 Rifle: Ibrahim Yahya Al Darai secured the top spot with 99 points.
o 308 Rifle: Khalid Mohammed Al Qaydi won first place with 98 points.
• Team Competitions (Sktun Plate Shooting):
o First place: Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority Team
o Second place: Bin Matar Team
o Third place: National Guard – Women’s Team
The winners expressed their joy at their achievements, noting that the championship gave them a valuable opportunity to hone their skills against top shooters in the country. They credited their victories to consistent effort and intensive training, and described the Abu Dhabi Grand Shooting Championship as a true arena for talent and creativity. Many participants also expressed their eagerness for the announcement of the third edition of the tournament.
