Abu Dhabi Sports Council Launches the "League 12" Fitness League

The Abu Dhabi Sports Council, in cooperation with Palm Sports and a number of supporting entities and strategic partners, has announced the launch of the Abu Dhabi Fitness League. This is a sporting series consisting of 12 stages across varied terrains, extending until August 2026, and encompassing different locations in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra. 
The series will kick off with its first stage from Fahad Island in Abu Dhabi through the "Fahad Island Beach Fitness Challenge", which will be held on Saturday, October 11th, at 7:00 AM. The subsequent stages will be held monthly, rotating between the cities of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra, highlighting the emirate's natural beauty and the diversity of its environments. 
This innovative sporting initiative falls within the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council to spread a culture of sports and promote healthy lifestyles in the community, through events that combine challenge, fitness, and an interactive experience in distinctive natural settings. 
For his part, His Excellency Talal Mustafa Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, emphasized that the Fitness League represents a new step in the Council's journey towards motivating community members to practice physical activity regularly. This is achieved through events focusing on strength, endurance, and flexibility within competitive and entertaining atmospheres that contribute to enhancing participants' physical and mental capabilities. 
Al Hashemi explained that participants in each stage will have the opportunity to collect cumulative points qualifying them to compete for the grand prize in the twelfth and final stage, provided they complete 11 stages of the series. This enhances the spirit of continuity and creates an extended, motivational atmosphere throughout the year. 
Fahad Island hosts the inaugural stage of the challenge, distinguished by its stunning nature and ideal beaches, which lend the event a unique character combining enjoyment and challenge. The course has been designed to suit various fitness levels, ensuring broad community participation including individuals and teams alike. 
It is worth noting that Fahad Island is designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and elevate living standards. It features a unique natural environment including mangrove forests that purify the air, and scenic beaches just five minutes away from residential areas. Additionally, it provides eco-friendly transportation means, allowing visitors to easily explore the island and enjoy an integrated experience between nature and entertainment.
