Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between the UAE Cybersecurity Council and Abu Dhabi Sports Council

In a step aimed at strengthening joint cooperation among government entities in the United Arab Emirates, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the UAE Cyber Security Council and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council at the Cyber Security Council’s pavilion during GITEX Global 2025.

The agreement seeks to enhance and formalize collaboration between the two parties in organizing community sports events that promote cybersecurity awareness within a healthy and interactive environment, as well as to cooperate in developing educational and awareness programs in this vital field.The MoU was signed by His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, and His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. 

This agreement reflects the shared commitment to organizing joint sports events and activities that support national efforts to advance sports and promote digital awareness. It also highlights the role of the Cybersecurity Council as an awareness partner through its visual identity, digital platforms, and media campaign materials for the event. Additionally, the MoU includes the integration of cybersecurity awareness content within accompanying sports activities, the exchange of technical, logistical, and media support, and the evaluation of community impact and cybersecurity awareness levels through post-event surveys. 

H.E. Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating: “This memorandum represents a strategic step towards enhancing cybersecurity awareness through sports and community activities. We believe that integrating digital awareness into sports programs helps instill a culture of cybersecurity across all segments of society.” 

For his part, H.E. Aref Hamad Al Awani said: “This partnership reflects our commitment to supporting national initiatives that promote both physical health and digital awareness. We look forward to organizing innovative sports events that combine enjoyment with community benefit, engaging all segments of society in educational programs that raise cybersecurity awareness to the highest levels.” 

Both parties affirmed their commitment to ongoing and productive cooperation to support and strengthen existing strategic partnerships, contributing positively to social development and aligning with the future policies and strategies of both entities.
