Strong Community Participation Expected at “Cyber Run & Ride” 2026

Abu Dhabi is witnessing strong community turnout and growing interest in the “Cyber Run & Ride” 2026 community event, scheduled to take place on 17 and 18 January 2026, reflecting increasing engagement with initiatives that combine sport, healthy lifestyles, and cybersecurity awareness. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and held under the sponsorship of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, the event aims to promote physical activity while embedding digital and cybersecurity awareness within a safe, interactive, and community-focused environment. The strong level of interest is attributed to the event’s diverse participation options, which cater to all ages and fitness levels. On 17 January, a series of running races will take place along the Abu Dhabi Corniche, featuring distances of half marathon, 10km, 5km, and 2.5km. On 18 January, the event will continue with non-timed cycling rides starting from Abu Dhabi Cricket Sports Hub, encouraging broader community participation in a relaxed and inclusive setting. The event will be accompanied by a fully integrated event village, hosted at the Nation Towers car park on the Abu Dhabi Corniche over three days (15–17 January). The village will feature community activities and interactive experiences that combine entertainment with technical and educational content, reinforcing sport as a platform for promoting both physical wellbeing and digital awareness. H.E. Talal Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said that the strong interest in participation reflects the community’s awareness of the importance of adopting an active and healthy lifestyle, as well as its eagerness to engage with initiatives that combine sport and awareness. He affirmed that “Cyber Run & Ride represents a comprehensive model for purposeful community events that contribute to enhancing quality of life and promoting digital security concepts through an innovative and interactive approach.” The event is supported by a wide range of partners. It is held under the sponsorship of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, with etisalat and, EMIRCOM, serving as principal sponsors. Tissot joins the event as the Official Timekeeper Partner, underscoring the highest standards of precision and professionalism.
